Since the development of cancer immunotherapy, cancer treatment has improved, but there are still limitations to its clinical utility. To overcome previous immunotherapy strategies, researchers in our lab are working to fabricate Smart Biomaterials (SBMs) through adoptive cellular therapy (ACT). By modifying the surface of these materials with various immune boosters (IBs), the nanoparticles can be functionalized and optimized for the highest therapeutic efficiency. The optimized IBs-SBMs are expected to be highly stable even after prolonged storage and maximize the ease of storage. In this study, we introduce strategies to maximize the function of therapeutic vaccines by effectively combining immune tolerance blockade and immune activity enhancement.
